About Our Legal Clinic
The Peterborough Community Legal Centre (PCLC) is a non-profit corporation with a community based membership and Board of Directors elected at our Annual General Meeting. We have been serving this community since 1989. Our funding comes from Legal Aid Ontario. We are members of the Association of Community Legal Clinics of Ontario, the body which represents Ontario’s 72 community legal clinics.
We provide free and confidential legal services, in our areas of law, for low income people living in Peterborough City and County who have certain types of legal problems
We can:
- give you legal advice
- help you fill out forms
- represent you at some tribunals and courts
- refer you to other agencies when we can’t help
We also give free legal information sessions for members of the public and other community agencies. We with our community partners to improve the laws that affect low income people in Ontario.
Our community-based Board of Directors, elected by our membership, is responsible for planning, developing policies and providing oversight for the Legal Centre.
